Back on topic: I actually like DmC4 Dante. His personality had the perfect mix of cockiness and maturity that made him most likeable to me.
Yeah his personality is quite awesome. One of my fave scenes is where he's with Angus - "I'm here... to reclaim... what is rightfully mine!" That scene, because hes both playful and immature but also the powerful and skillful Dante we know him to be.
I still kinda prefer dmc3 Dante though, because although he can be called obnoxious and all that, in my eyes hes just over playful which really shows the contrast between him and Vergil.
Dmc1 Dante... hes the mature one. Theres not much humour (none that I can think of) but we can still think of him as Dante because of his one liners "Hey~ slow down babe!" and his strong personality. Also, its nice to see him show emotion like when Trish "dies" or he picks up Vergil's amulet.
Dmc2 dante... his lines seemed kinda forced to me. They didnt flow or fit in with him. The only good thing about him for me was the diesel costume. It gave a new feel to Dante and showed more about his taste and style, instead of the usual red (Whoa, dont get me wrong, im not knocking the red jacket)
I think for me its either Dmc3 or dmc4 dante
But now... when I look back... the people who should be with me aren't... the people who should be smiling with me aren't here!

Are sins... ever forgiven...?
...I've never tried.
