Of course, Dante is my favorite in DMC3 and DMC4, cause in DMC4 he has change a lot before in DMC3 i think.

``I am a King of Honor, Gold and Glory
but every King must also Die``

I have to commend Capcom for making Dante different in every game. However, I like the Dante from DMC1 overall. Dante from DMC2 lacked personality while Dante from DMC3 was a bit of a jack#$!@. What I mean is, they didn't give him many lines in DMC2 so I can't get a feel for the kind of person he is in the game. In DMC3, he was obnoxious, insensitive, and annoying. When Lady becomes emotional after finding Arkham dead there is no compassion from Dante. Did you even know he was upset about losing Vergil until Lady asked him if he was crying?? There was a bit of emotion from Dante when Vergil goes into hell at the end but it seemed out of character for him after everything else we had seen him do. I mean they were trying to kill each other throughtout the entire game, then Dante is upset that Vergil is leaving. I don't get it. Yes, I realize that since he was young they wanted to make him a bit immature but come on people. No, this does not mean I hated him but I did like Vergil in DMC3 more. Dante from DMC1 actually showed compassion when Mundus killed Griffon. He saved Trish after she betrayed him while still giving his cocky one-liners. What do you guys think?? Do I have a point or am I just nuts??

Hey,hey, hey! Now you are saying that Dante should be some kind of a pansy (***),and cry whenever something bad happens!!!!NO WAY!Dante is still Half-demon,and a demon-butt-kickin-machine!He's got no time to be sensetive, that's why DMC 1 Dante pisses me off!

Anyway,my favourite Dante would be from DMC 2.I like him much more when he is so cold and evil-looking than a cry-baby (DMC 1).Plus,that costume, sweetest outfit i have ever seen in a game (and i've seen a lot).

    Re: Favorite Dante

    Definitely 4.

... And she cradles me down into sleep
Still I miss her so and for more I weep
And she gives me death yet i'm alive
raving eternally, on her I thrive..

... And she buries me down far too deep
Yet six-feet high and gives me bliss to keep
and she abuses me yet I abide
She's in demand, my hunger I cannot hide..

    Her name's Jez..

Because that Dante was an emotionless unsociable character who had only ONE good line throughout the course of the entire games. I can safely say that the only cool thing about DMC 2 Dante was his costume.

Yeah he is,but i like him more like that than like a "cheesy lines dispensor" as somebody (don't remeber who) once described him.Besides, did you see that Devil Trigger in DMC 2?!!?!?!?Coolest ever!

Back on topic: I actually like DmC4 Dante. His personality had the perfect mix of cockiness and maturity that made him most likeable to me. But I have to say, DmC2 had the best Devil Trigger.

Yeah his personality is quite awesome. One of my fave scenes is where he's with Angus - "I'm here... to reclaim... what is rightfully mine!" That scene, because hes both playful and immature but also the powerful and skillful Dante we know him to be.

I still kinda prefer dmc3 Dante though, because although he can be called obnoxious and all that, in my eyes hes just over playful which really shows the contrast between him and Vergil.

Dmc1 Dante... hes the mature one. Theres not much humour (none that I can think of) but we can still think of him as Dante because of his one liners "Hey~ slow down babe!" and his strong personality. Also, its nice to see him show emotion like when Trish "dies" or he picks up Vergil's amulet.

Dmc2 dante... his lines seemed kinda forced to me. They didnt flow or fit in with him. The only good thing about him for me was the diesel costume. It gave a new feel to Dante and showed more about his taste and style, instead of the usual red (Whoa, dont get me wrong, im not knocking the red jacket)

I think for me its either Dmc3 or dmc4 dante

But now... when I look back... the people who should be with me aren't... the people who should be smiling with me aren't here!

DMC4 dante because he was more mature and still joked around and the game wouln't be as good with a serious silent character. Such as DMC2 but you all have apparently covered that.

    Re: Favorite Dante

I still love DMC2 Dante, but only in the way he looks, and his Devil Trigger. The Majin-Form is second to none. His personality wasn't that bad, it was just the LACK of personality that threw him off. It only barely leaks out with that "king, here's your crown" part. :(

    Yeah... I'm good.... :)
