    Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhllllllllllllllllllll,

Have you ever seen him sad when he's eating pizza, kicking a demon's ass, or beating the *** out of, let's say.....Arkham's ass?

(Talk like a snooty british person here) I think not.

and pretty much every other time (talking to Lady, talking to a normal human, talking to Virgil after he gets his sword stoled, etc), he's a cold, assinine basterd.

    one and one make twelve.

Relax. You only live twice, you know.

well he might be "emotionless" just cause the developers thought that giving him the "lone cowboy" style would sell more.just a matter of money.but when they saw that the sellings went to hell they gave him the style he had in dmc1.

Hell yeah, and I'm glad they did, cause I hate cowboys....

... Ever since Brokeback Mountain. Oh, and the stupid rodeos I was forced to go to when I lived in Texas.

Re: Why Dantes A Gloomy Bad Ass

Well, the team of DMC2 ***ed everything up. From battle system to storyline. Obviously they used that cliche of the macho silent guy who kills and gets the job done without cheer ups. They thought they came up with something great.. Crap..

Anyway the following games did justice and I can say that there is only one hope for the story, considering that DMC2 is the final part. Something terrible must happen in DMC5 or DMC6, (I don't know how many they' re gonna be, particularly with Dante starring, as I suppose Nero will succeed him in the series) to explain the attitude of Dante in DMC2. Something like the death of Trish for example, or Lady, or both. That would be cool if it's used in the plots of the following games, and for the general story.

Capcom didn't have a plan for the story of 4 games at once of course, but as the developers of the 2nd game ***ed it up, Capcom must try to come up with plots for the next games that will fit DMC2 into the story.

A remake would be interesting. I wouldn't change the story. Only the gaming experience, which was a dissapointment (Square square square, no combos, boring as hell). Better graphics and the battle mechanics of DMC4 and DMC3, would make this game as good as the others and a fitting end to the series.

if they had a better voice actor,Dante's lines were better written n had paid some more time with the story, maybe dmc2's dante could be one of the best.

Re: Why Dantes A Gloomy Bad Ass

Well, Dante was emotionless because something happend between DMC4 and DMC2.

I would say that it's because he lost all his loved one's (Eva, Sparda, Thris, Lady, Vergil and so on.).

After all, we didn't see Thris nor Lady in DMC 2 (Like what said Necro). But that is only a guess, I dont kow the true reason.

in dmc2 dante seems to know prety well about sparda("i know, he did the same thing"), even if in dmc4(prequel) he says that there is a lot of confusion surroundin sparda.could dante have met sparda before dmc 2?

Re: Why Dantes A Gloomy Bad Ass

I don't think Sparda will ever make an appearance. Not that it wouldn't be interesting, but Sparda is the history and backbone of every DMC and you usually don't mess with this. I highly doubt it for Vergil too. It's more than certain that the next DMCs will have arrogant humans who want to open a hellgate and take control of the power of a demon and conquer the world by bringin hell on earth. The question is who is gonna star in them. Nero? Dante? I don't believe there's gonna be another DMC with both of them playable.

Nero is the new hero and it would seem pointless for Capcom to introduce a new character and not use him later. And they made it clear that he is important, not like Lucia for example, who was playable also.

On the other hand it's a huge risk not to include Dante. It would suck big time for all the fanbase. What's more, Nero is an anxious heartbroken by love kid whose character doesn't seem appealing to me at all, if you compare it to Dante. Who cares for a good guy in love as a protagonist in devil may cry? All is needed is an antihero and he's not that.

Storywise DMC3 had the best plot. I hope they'll come up with something interesting from here.
