Re: Silvermyth Bane: Divagro Must Die (story)

Storm crow chuckled to himself as he watched Victor chase his projectiles up to him. The demon dive bombed threw the energy blasts, some of them grazing his large body as he swayed to avoid the spray of brightly lit sphere. As he peered down again, he noted that Victor wasn't below him anymore. "Hmm?" The damphier was waiting beside him.

    "...well this kinda sucks..."

Vic plunged  his dagger deep into the demon's chest. cutting meat and spewing blood out of the wound. Storm crow growled at the pain and batted Victor away with the back of his hand.

The two warriors stopped in mid air and looked at each other. both where blood stained, some Victors, some Storm crows. Rapture was still embedded in the demon's chest. he looked down at the weapon and wrapped one of his hands around it. with a sigh, he pushed it the rest of the way in, and then with one of his other hands, pulled on the blade, allowing the hilt to pass threw him. he then held Rapture in front of his face for closer examination.

"I don't think you're going to live much longer Victor..."

Storm crow hurled the blade higher into air as he cast his hooks out and away from himself. they hovered there while the demon traced glyphs in the air.

"Is... Is he going to use his power word?" Gail continued to look up into the sky, wishing he had wings, and wondering about the future of the aerial combatants.

Re: Silvermyth Bane: Divagro Must Die (story)

Victor watched with a look of twisted satisfaction as his blade dug into Storm Crow's chest. Satisfaction transformed into horror as the demon yanked the weapon straight through his chest and examined it, as if nothing had happened.

Narrowing his eyes, he darted upwards and caught the sword as Storm Crow tossed it into the air. He put some more distance between himself and his mark and watched with a look of mild confusion as Storm Crow traced strange glyphs in the air. What the hell was he planning?

Despite the fact that he really didn't want to find out, Vic knew that he wasn't going to last a lot longer duking it out with Storm Crow face-to-face. He needed to find a way to weaken him quickly. And this upcoming attack was definitely the key.

It looked like it was gonna take a lot of effort on the demon's part to pull this off. If Victor could survive it, he'd have a chance of downing Storm Crow while he was recovering. The dhampir stayed put, hovering in place, gathering his strength for this last gambit.

He was gonna defeat Storm Crow... or he was gonna die trying.

Re: Silvermyth Bane: Divagro Must Die (story)

"So, this all belongs to david?" Vaughn was actually quite impressed with the city, him and his small group of Hunters were looking for a good place ot stay. though, he had a bizar sensation they were being followed ever sence they left the sand sub, he didnt pay too mutch atention into it... probly a common Riffraft.

"You two split up and find a place for us to stay, im going to browse this city a bit longer". he urged his Steed onward, and the dwarf and womangave a nodd...

still, he felt eyes on him, digging in like daggers, his exstirior looked calm, but he had one hand wraped tightly around his blade. So focused on the feeling of being watched, he didnt notice he had led himself into a Area of the city, that currently no one was in... his first mistake, one he would not forget.

"you son of a !" a Wiald voice barked from the side, the hunter lept off of his steed before whatever it was could take his head off!. landing on his back with a hard thud, he looked up, only to see the wolf Squating on his steed looking down at him, Bearing his sharp pearly white fangs.

"Woops, I missed". he then lept down at the Hunter, who in return rolled backwards and drew his fencer like blade. "Im glad you came to find me, it saves me the trouble of hunting a Murder like you!". and with that, they were at it again!.

The fight led from the Deserted clearing up onto the walls of a building, the two were both incrediblyathletic, and quick, the Whistleing of Vaughns sword strikeing nothing but air matched the sweeping of Wolfs claws, always a fraction of a second to slow! fnally, there fight went to the roof of a house.

"Why dont you just leave me alone! you could have KILLEd some one!" Wolf hissed, bloodlust in his eyes, once thaught uncapeable by others who met him. "And you would care why?" Vaughn wore a smug grin, spinning the blade and makeing sevral jabs, wich after Dodgeing two strikes, wolf was forced to hop backwords.

"Your Spider mine almost killed a inocent Woman!, I told you already what happend, I snuck in, Ate two little piggy's, the third piggy ran into that little girs home, and when I went to Persue, I stopped at the door, where I saw blood seeping from under it!"

"But you went inside any way!" Vaughn continued his assalt. "Your footprints were all over that place, saturated in the blood of that poor young girl and her grandmother!". The two were now on a cloaths wire, Balenceing themself as they tried to spill each others blood.

"Oh yes, I went inside!, and I got in just in time to see another wolf Tearing my meal to pieces!" he refered to the last pig that had gotten away from him. Vaughn laughing as he made a few moreswipes with his sword. "You are a horrible lire Wolf!, and it will cost you your life!"

Re: Silvermyth Bane: Divagro Must Die (story)

Nayo continued to look for Red. As she searched, she thought about Ray and how crazy things had been over the past few days. There had to be a way to work into that thick skull of his, but she was getting side tracked, Red had to be around somewhere.

    *Tee hee*

Suddenly, a child-like giggle broke the silence that mantled the corridors of the Guild's facilities.

    "Hm, must be him."

Nayo closed in on the giggling, keeping her defenses up.

-"Who?"- spoke Red as his head popped out from within her bossom to have a look around.

"Oh, I knew you were around here."

Nayo had popped out of the snake man's ear, as he seemed to be slithering around in a pile of puss within the mouth of some kind of venus fly trap.

-"Ah, an illusion conjurer..."- he replied with a wide maniacal grin drawn across his face. They now stood in the middle of a wornout warehouse’s storage chamber, rusty chains with hooks hanging throughout the place, tapping the very silence with ominous clinking.

Despite the grim circumstances, Nayo's smile never faded.

"You have an interesting taste for architecture, don't you? "

The silvermyth sat down on top of a pile of chains, adjusting her glasses as she examined her foe from afar.

-"I do my best not to keep the ladies hanging around...for too long."- said Red as he he held on to a chained hook with a vicious smile.
He displayed the same appearance as always; goldish red irises with snake pupils composed his stare, along with black, long, and lank hair that flowed down freely to the rim of his lower back with a peasant woman-like red handkerchief atop his head. He wasn’t wearing a hoodie anymore, displaying his bare torso, ripped but not buffed. All the skin of his body a sick pale, with black stitches over the area of his heart.

"Oh, that's a nice dress. You'll have to tell me where you shop." said the illusionist as she stood up and dusted off her arms. "So, why are you here, if you don't mind me asking?"

While her eyes remained on him at all times far off in the distance, a pair of white hands suddenly caressed both flanks of her neck in a seductive manner. Red was already standing behind her.

-"You know, the part I enjoy the most of a woman's body, is this..."- the snake man whispered to her ear as he passed the tips his index fingers gently over her collarbones -"Yours are very nice, so I'll gladly answer your question. I'm here for Ray, to harness the power that sleeps deep inside of him..."-

"Well, good luck with that." Nayo tossed the lizard hands off of her shoulders and walked towards one of the chambers walls.

-"My, that's strange. For someone whose eyes sparkle each time he's on her mind, you don't sound all that concerned about his well-being, hm hm hm..."-

Red chuckled as he crossed his arms under his pecs, raising his left hand all the way to his mouth as he nibbled softly on it to taste the lingering scent of her skin -"So much better than the angel man."- he remarked to himself.

"Ah, I can see mind reading isn't one of your specialties..." Nayo turned on her heel and faced Red. " In order for me to worry about Ray, I'd have to think you could actually best him."

At first, Red's face lost all sign of joy and became somewhat aghast in surprise, but soon after, his expression was that of an overjoyed child, giggling innocently as he covered his lips with both hands.

-"Are you making fun of me, b¡tch?"-

With a swift gesture, Red commanded the chains and hooks to lunge at her with flashing speed.

Nayo merely chuckled and pointed her palm at them.

    "No, I'm telling the truth."

    *WOOSH*

The metallic legion of rust suddenly turned into wires hooked up with mics. They dangled from the ceiling of a theater they now stood in. The Silvermyth Theater.

"Ready for the first act? It's all illusions...well... mostly..."

Red was now dressed in a stereotypical french director outfit, as he adjusted the red beret atop his head and stared at Nayo over his round-glass shades.

    -"By all means."-

Nayo cartwheeled backwards, making sure to give the stage a hard stomp. The force caused the floor boards under Red to hurl him into the air, where he was an easy target for Nayo's crossbow.

Yet, as soon as the first bolt made contact with him, the snake man's body morphed into hundreds of long maroon centipedes that poured down to the stage, rushing at Nayo in swarms.

    "Oh drat..."

Tossing the crossbow aside, the illusionist pulled a huge molotov cocktail from under her arm. Once it had fully emerged into existance, it was about as tall as she was. Nayo stumbled backwards with it,  but was able to quickly gain momentum and hurl the fire bomb at the parade of bugs, which caught up in flames as the centipedes' loud screech resounded horribly through the auditorium. Soon, the stage’s curtains had also been set ablaze, turning their “battlefield” into a raging inferno.

"Well, I know you’re not dead, so show yourself!"

Nayo picked up a top hat that seemed to roll out of the inferno and placed it atop her head, making sure the brim was parallel with her glasses.

-"Awww, missing me already?"- fakely inquired Red as he now leaned against her, back to back.

    "Only your dress."

The illusionist pushed off Red to propell herself towards a burning drape dangling from the ceiling. Once she caught hold of it, she swung around the burning landscape like someone on a trapeze.

-"Tell me...Nayo...what is it that you know about Yar, exactly?"- the snake man suddenly questioned as he now hung from the curtain opposite to hers.

    "Yar? Ray's split personality?"

The illusionist seemed confused by the snake’s request.

"I try not to spend too much time learning about one's abnormal self, why do you ask?"

Nayo allowed her curtain to slow down as she stared at Red.

-"Yar's power, as it seems, surpasses that of Ray himself. Well, actually, and to be more accurate, it unleashes Ray's own untapped potential, removing the barriers of his own sanity to achieve levels beyond those of the hundred percent."- the half-gorgon began to explain his own theory of Yar as he snickered mischievously, showing Nayo a pair of snake-like fangs more predominant than the rest of his denture -"Now, if someone could get his or her hands on such power and somehow manage to control it, then that individual would become practically unstoppable. Just imagine, unlimited potential at the reach at one's whim!"-

"Yes, Yar seems to make him stronger, but it also controls him to a degree. If Yar is why you're here, then you should look elsewhere for a means of unimaginable power. Such a dreadful thing would be the end of someone like yourself, who's already on the verge of insanity!"

    *WOOSH*

Nayo dropped into the inferno below, disappearing into the flames, which seemed to take the shape of hands as they reached up to snatch Red.

-"Ah, but you see, that is where THIS comes in handy."-

With that, Red snapped one of the ends of the thick stitches on his chest and pulled harshly to remove the whole thing, trickles of blood emanating from each of the punctures as they flowed down his torso. Finally, the hands encompassed Red and continued to squeeze as the flames seared his flesh. Just then, a fierce and baritone roar echoed through the fire as these were suddenly absorbed by...something. Not only that, but also light itself seemed to be sucked into the enygmatic void.

It wasn't long before all the flames had entirely vanished, leaving the room dark and empty, spare Red and a few chairs.

-"Hee hee hee, it's specially voracious today..."- chuckled the snake man as he stood amidst the darkness, shedding the burnt skin off of himself in the fashion of a serpent.

Ray walked into the room with his sword at his side in that moment.

"I can see Nayo hasn't finished you off yet... Tsk tsk, must I finish everything myself?"

He continued to walk through the room until he had reached the other side, where a door was.

"Nayo, I'm giving you another chance, make sure he doesn't follow me."

After saying this, the guild master slammed the door shut, as it was soon covered in barbs and wooden stakes.

-"Heh, nice try..."- remarked Red as he pulled out a curved needle and a roll of thick black string from his pocket to sew the yet unseen thing on his chest back together -"You know, you kind of remind me of her, my wife I mean."-

The half gorgon's tone of voice had changed drastically. He sounded more solemn and manly, almost...sane.

"You're not getting anywhere, Red. This battle was over long before we met. Bravely exit the stage."

Nayo's illusory world collapsed; the curtains fell and the stage floor collapsed, creating a cloud of smoke. After it all cleared, the half gorgon found himself standing in front of Ray's room. The door seemed to have been blown apart by some sort of spell. Ray could be seen inside, reading a book that looked like a diary.

-"Hu hu hu, that is a real jewel you have there, Ray. The lady sure knows her art, mine was no match as it seems."- laughed the snake man as he finished stitching his chest and turned to face Ray -"I mean, you and other silvermyths were completely fooled by it, but that woman was on to me from the  very start."-

Red snickered as he remained standing outside Ray's office. This last one looked up at the snake man out of the corner of his eye.

    "Is that so?"

After inserting a bookmark, he placed the book inside a drawer and stood up, remaining behind his desk.

"I know why you're here, I just don't know who you are. If you care to tell me, maybe we could work on some kind of resolution."

Just then, Red began to approach Ray with casual steps. As he did, his clothes, body, and face shifted form and shape, so by the time he'd reached Ray's side, he'd completely turned into Nate.

-"You might want to sit down for this."- stated Nate with his usual smile.

    Ray’s eyes narrowed.

    "What the hell?"

He slipped his hand secretly onto the sword which laid hidden under his desk...

Re: Silvermyth Bane: Divagro Must Die (story)

David was puzzled. Never had he been asked for help like this before. "You're a Silvermyth? So they do exist after all..." He quickly patted down Kiyo to check for weapons. not that he needed weapons anyway. "hmm... well, I don't usually lend my air forces, or armies to anyone, so I'd like to hear what you're going to use them for first. I'll have you know I'm about ready to declare war on another country." he said this spinning his finger in front of kiyo's face.

As David neared Kiyo, the tension in the air steadily increased. For the second time in his life, Kiyo felt....edgy. He couldn't shake the feeling that something strange was going on. And he had a strong suspicion that it all had to do with the president standing in front of him. The Suzaku took a brief moment to focus on his senses, closing his eyes just long enough to make it seem like a long blink. Nothing seemed quite out of the ordinary, except for one thing: the heat. It wasn't anything spectacular in intensity, but something about it felt...overbearing, like a kind of gravitating warmth. And this unusual torridity seemed to emanate from David's general direction.

    <Kiyoshi. This heat....>

"Yeah, I sense it too. It seems suppressed. Any idea on what it is?"

<I'm not too sure. It appears to be coming from the sword. Something about it seems...divine. And not the earthly kind, but something...out of this world. The way it feels....like pure rising energy....it bears a strong similarity to Amaterasu.>

    "The Sun Goddess?!"

<That's the best clue I have. Only a Celestial Goddess like Amaterasu possessed flames that were strong enough to disturb Suzaku. And as much as I hate to admit, the heat I feel from that blade sets me on edge.>

"Same here. The last time I felt something like this was when you tried to teach me Karin Zanjutsu (Fire-Ring Blade Technique), Amaterasu's forbidden sword style. That technique almost killed me."

<I taught you that technique to use as a last resort. But that's beside the point. We should be glad to have such a powerful ally.>

"Oh yeah. I feel REALLY safe knowing this guy's got god-like powers that could kill me at any moment."

All this time, Kiyo kept his poker face up, but he could do little to nothing about the sweat rolling down his face. He took a deep breath and wiped the perspiration away, passing it off as fatigue and industrial heat, before giving out his report.
"My team is on a mission to eliminate the Black Calamity brothers. We've already killed Vega. Right now, our forces are locked in combat with Storm Crow but it doesn't look good. We'd really appreciate it if you could lend us some help."

David blinked curiously at Kiyo's statement. he wasn't about to start believing everything he said, but his statement did hold some weight.

"I see, then we should rush to the front gate..."

With a snap, the maids lined either side of the street as a jeep drove up to where kiyo and David where standing. "Alright, let's go check it out, you're coming too!"  The president tugged Killrock onto the van with them, and as soon as the doors shut, the van speed off."

"What you say interests me. If the brothers are all about than I may have to post pone this war after all. In the event that the brothers are up to no good, this will be more useful in your hands than mine..." David unbelted the sword from his waist and held it out in front of Kiyo. "Don't unsheathe it until I say, you'll kill us all if you do." the chains binding the hilt to the sheath rattled as the van ran over a bump.

While Kiyo inspected the sword, David explained it's history. "The sword was originally found by a group of small barbarian tribes not too far from Valhalla. it was a powerful weapon that was believed to have been forged by there gods. the sword works when the wielder peers into the blade, and looked at his enemies at the same time. then everyone who looked upon the blade would be incinerated. they believed that this was there gods way of showing no good would ever come out of fighting, that you would always have to make a sacrifice, that there was no perfect war...

As you can see, technology changed that. looking into the blade threw this eye patch prevents the wielder from being incinerated. once I see storm crow with my own eyes, I'll let you have this eye patch."

"I see. So this is a weapon forged by the Norse Gods themselves." Kiyo muttered as he observed the foreign weapon. He reached out with his right hand to get a closer inspection, but right when his finger glanced the hilt, he felt a serious magical backlash that forced him to retract his arm, almost as if he got shocked. Kiyo's arm and ring pulsated with a red hot aura in response to the strange sword's sealed fire power.

<Such potent power. No wonder it set me on edge. The Celestial power from that blade is somehow reacting to our Phoenix-based magic.>

"Yeah. It's not 'somehow' reacting. 'Explosively' would be more appropriate. There's definitely something about that sword that doesn't mix well with me." Kiyo mentally complained as he shook his glowing arm in annoyance. "I've only read a bit on Norse mythology, but do you think Loki had a hand in this sword's creation? He is, after all, the Trickster God of Fire. And this sword definitely has a strong double-edged 'recoil' to it."

David just smiled and looked out the van’s window. Part of him hoped kiyo was telling the truth. He would like to see how the sword would react with a demon of such power…

Storm crow was growing in power with every second, and Vic was waiting there, hoping to be able to take the heat of the blow.

“I can’t do this! Why isn’t he attacking?”

Gail knew he had to do something. Victor wasn’t going to last much longer and why would he? Storm crow wasn’t a demon, he was an ARMY of demons! Four arms, self controlling weaponry,  no outstanding weaknesses,  one on one wasn’t fair!

He looked over at the glass tower, it was now clear what he had to do…

    “GRAHHHH!”

With a heave, Gail leapt  onto the tower and started to clime with haste, using his scythes as picks to dig into the glasses surface. The half demon hoped the tower had a nice sturdy base, if it did collapse maybe it would at least provide a distraction, but he hoped he would be out of harms way.

    “When souls collide…”

Crap! Storm crow was getting dangerously close to finishing his power word! He could already see electricity arcing from his hooks into a sphere of raw power. No way Victor could expect to survive that, hell, Gail was sure Storm crow couldn’t survive it! he was atop the tower, a good leap would put him between Vic and the demon. But he had to time his jump right.

    “…NOTHING REMAINS!”

With a bound, Gail shoved Vic out of the way and activated his power word just as Storm crow engaged his attack.

    “What the? Where did you?”

Unlike Marauder and Midori’s power words, Gail couldn’t fully control Storm crows magic. All he could do is generate a beam of equal power and hurl it back at the demon. Gail’s beam was pure energy, Storm crows was a purple hue with electricity arcing in it. “When soul’s collide huh?” there beams, as if guided by prophecy, collided, and the outcome was also similar to the phrase depicted in Storm crow’s power word.

David jumped out of his seat.  “Oh my god! Did the engine explode?!”

The power colliding from the two power words created a loud crash, followed by an explosion of unchanneled energy.  it hurled the three combatants outward and away from each other. Gail soared into the sky, Victor and Storm crow where hurled mercilessly at the ground.

“Oh… oh now I really wish I had wings!” Gail groaned as he started to descend like a comet, leaving a trail of dust behind him.

The demon shook off the devastating explosion and looked over at Victor, who was descending towards the earth at the same speed he was. “I don’t think you getting splattered all over the desert sand is a very memorable way for you to perish victor.” Storm crow said to himself.  He quickly halted there accent three hundred feet above the ground by spreading his wings and snagging Victor with his hooks.  After pulling Victor up to meet him, he opened a worm hole behind victor and flew into it. just as the damphnir’s wings where the only thing on the inside of the worm hole, it closed, sheering Victors wings off and sealing them in another dimension.

    “Oops…”

Vic’s face showed much pain as he slowly started to descend again, but Storm crow wouldn’t let him hit the ground. He hooked him and pulled Vic into his waiting fist, knocking him outward. The demon used the same tactic again, this time with an uppercut.  And again,  and again, the wingless damphnir was just a rag doll to Storm crow now. He continued to hold together as the demon wailed on him. Then Storm crow reeled him in one last time, but he didn’t punch him away This time. Instead he  channeled electricity threw his weapon into Vic, the voltage arcing all over the place. Even now, Victor continued to fight, stabbing Storm crow as the electricity coursed threw him.

    “Why won’t you DIE ALREADY!?!?”

“…Just look into his eyes, keep the one without a patch closed, and don’t unsheathe it until he makes eye contact!”

Storm crow tuned his head and looked downward upon kiyo, who stood there wearing an eye patch, holding a sword out in front of him.

“How the hell is he going to hurt me with that?”

    “NOW!”

After David’s words, Kiyo pulled up on the hilt as high as he could. The chains prevented the entire blade from being revealed, but he could feel the raw power and heat escaping the blade as it shook uncontrollably in his hands. It almost made kiyo let go, but he knew he had to hold on.

    “GRAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

The glass on Storm crows visor cracked and  flames bust out of the newly created hole in his armor. He instantaneously dropped Vic, who couldn’t feel the searing heat. yet even at this distance, it felt like the flames where licking at Kiyo’s face.

The demon didn’t stop screaming as he hurdled threw the air. If anything, it was getting louder as the heat cracked and shattering his prized armor like glass. even his wings, which where said to be made of stone, seemed to turn molten under the heat that was consuming him.  finally he hit the ground, and the heat was starting to die down.

“And now for the secondary blast, keep your eyes on him Kiyo…”

David covered his eyes with his hand as he pressed on the top of the hilt, causing Kiyo to sheath the sword. This detonated an explosion near the demon and created a ring of fire that stretched out for miles, but only burning Kiyoshi’s one foe.

“It’s all depleted now, give it time and it’ll be ready to fire again, it won’t be ready for a blast like that for a few weeks I’m afraid.”

Out in the desert laid Storm crow’s motionless body. the armor all but destroyed, and his body scorched worse than a 600 year hell flame.

    *slam*

The demon brought his fists into the ground with enough force to bring himself upright. He angrily hurled his armor off to the sides as he yelled at his foes. “Don’t you get it? I can’t die! You’ll never slay me! All my deaths have been suicides!”

“Well, I guess I’m going to take a fall. Heh, never pictured myself going out like thi-“

Just then, a blue glow consumed Gail and Victor, and reduced the speed at which they descended dramatically. When they hit the ground, it was like a feather landing.

“What? What are you doing here?” Storm crow cowered as the newcomer in the battlefield arrived.

Ray looked upon Nate with slight confusion as he folded his hands together. He listened to Red as he continued to drone on about how he got here.

“My story began aeons ago, way before the founding of the Silvermyth Guild. On that fateful day in which the path of both its founders and my own crossed, I lost everything that mattered to me the most in this world. That day,on a travellers’ road located south within ancient Mesopotamia, a vampire named Ray Silvermyth was captured by a gang of bandits who attempted to mug him. That was, of course, until he was saved shortly after by the very demon he would come to despise and oppose. Yes, it wasn’t long before Storm Crow barged into the thieves’ hideout and slaughtered most of its members mercilessly, finally feasting on the vanquished female leader’s charred corpse. That woman, better known throughout ancient history as the Red Bloom. My Red Bloom.”

-“That’s right, Ray. The woman whose light was extinguished by Storm Crow’s brutal inhumanity all those centuries ago, the very same person you didn’t even contemplate to spare with your obsolete Silvermyth morality...was my wife.”-

"The one that tried to kill me because I wouldn't lend her my outfit? I do remember her, and I didn't raise a hand against her. You're lucky Yar didn't have his way with the whole lot of you."

Ray tightened his grip on his blade as he deposited it across his lap, still hiding it from plain sight. Nate merely smiled.

-“He he he, is that so? Well, no matter, let’s continue.”-

“So, as I laid there, amidst the ruins of the lair I once called my own, holding the tarnished remains of my love between my arms, I swore in that very moment, that even if I had to sell my soul to the devil, I would exact my revenge on those responsible of her death. That, of course, includes me, the one who wasn’t strong enough to protect what he held most dear. It was like that that after burying my wife and comrades, I took control of all that what was left of the gang and assumed my new position as leader. Soon enough, my resolve and thirst for venegeance propelled the gang forward as more and more members joined our cause. Before I knew it, I had a whole army at my disposal. It was in that moment that I decided to rename the group. That, was the beginning of what you now know as the Thieves’ Guild.”

-“That’s the very same guild your little troupe of valiants battled back at Griffon’s Tail, Ray. I was the one who spread the hint of Vega’s whereabouts amongst your ranks, and it was I who also lured the demon itself into the guild.”-

"So you killed off your own men for vengeance? Great, but you skipped over two centuries, what happened during that?"

Ray pointed his sword at Red,still keeping it conceiled, but hesitated to strike, he had to cast a few spells on it first.

-“Patience, darling. We still have some ways to go.”- replied Nate as he remained standing on the opposite side of where Ray was sitting.

“Sadly, for as much influence and power as I’d gained, I was never able to track down the two responsible for the Red Bloom’s demise, and so, the years caught up to me on their natural course. At age 44, I was killed during a raid on the ancient city of Memphis, my remains buried deep under the sands for the next thousand years. Do you know what it is like to exhale your last breath knowing that your life’s goal, the only thing that kept you alive until then, will go on unfinished for the rest of time? There was nothing but darkness surrounding me after my downfall, even though I’ve heard from countless wisemen and ignorant fools that one’s soul goes somewhere after death. I can tell you otherwise, Ray, that as soon as your heart stops beating, there is nothing waiting for you on the other side, no greater plane of existence, only solitude and ebony confinement.”

"Apparently you didn't go entirely. After all, you are standing here before me." The guild lord gestured with his hand as he said this, to which Nate chuckled.

“But as fate would have it, light was shed into my world once more, almost a millenia later, as the Necromancer, one of Vega’s many hosts as I’d come to learn time afterwards, brought me back to life as one of his many minions. It was an improvement I must say, though only my subconscious was left my own. Dreams of revenge and fulfillment is what I had, yet my body and mind wouldn’t budge out of the Nercomancer’s control. It was then that my own personal savior arrived, the young warrior known as Mull, one of your Black Lieutenant still untinged by the Silvermyth Guild. Seeking revenge for his beloved Isk’s apparent demise at the Necromancer’s hands, Mull foiled his ambitions and in the process, freed me from a life of servitude. After the battle had seen itself concluded, I crawled my way out of the shambled ruins of the Necromancer’s hideout, desperately clinging to life, if you can call it that. You see, Ray, without any lifeforce of their own to sustain them, the rest of the Necromancer’s children perished as soon as their master had found his bitter end. Yet, I had other plans, I had a purpose and a mission to accomplish.”

-“So I must thank you, Ray, and Storm Crow as well, for it was my unending hate for the both of you which kept me alive, even against all odds. That, and this...”- remarked Red at the time he pointed to the stitches on his chest.

    "And that is?"

-“Well, you see, during the time that I was dead, strong feelings and emotions like mine still haunted my corpse’s final resting place, eating away at the essence of my very core. That, along with the Necromancer’s curse, gave me...”-

Unstitching it a bit, Nate showed Ray the true form of his apparent injury. Opening slightly was a mouth with endless rows of fangs, much like a leech’s mouth.

-“With this, I am able to consume a being’s own essence and lifeforce myself. By eating away at a creature’s heart, brain, and body parts, I am able to absorb all of its knowledge, power, and natural lifespan, being even able to replace my own lost limbs for spare ones.”-

"That's ... special..." Ray had finished casting the spell on his weapon. "So, you hope to take Yar's power by eating me?"

Nate snickered cunningly as he went on with his story.

“So, it was then that I decided to continue my search for the two of you, consuming the knowledge and lives of countless beings to preserve my own. Eventually, time caught up to me as many centuries had already gone by, and, no matter how hard I looked or how many lands I traversed, I was unable to even find the slightest clue to the whereabouts the demon Storm Crow or the vampire Ray. That, is when Nate comes into the picture. You see, poor Nate was never able to get over the news of his beloved’s tragic end, and so, deciding to embrace hope over resignation, he began his own journey to search for her. Unfortunately, he was unlucky enough to cross paths with me. I must tell you, he proved to be a more than a worthy adversary for me. Yet, he was no match for centuries of experience and knowledge, and eventually, I consumed his heart and mind to make them my own. Oh, how blissful I felt when I saw you in his memories, I couldn’t wait to get back to the Guild and rip the very entrails which even now keep you alive. But, upon pondering better on it, I decided it was still not time to do away with you, for I still needed to find about Storm Crow’s own whereabouts. So, I decided to play the role of a Silvermyth teacher a little longer, using your Guild’s vast resources to my advantage. That’s how I was able to trace back my own Guild and contact them. Believe me when I tell you, Ray, that even though it was easy to assume the identity of one of your teachers, there were still some complications on the way that could ruin everything. For example, I was sure Nate’s father, Irvin, would recognize me upon close interaction. That’s why I decided to used the grudge for what happened with Midori to cut off all contact with the old man.”

"First, Killrock reported to me that he saw you in Nate's explosion. I knew Nate had something to do with you all the time and if that wasn't enough, that little girl you trained with pretending you were Nate contacted Nayo. She was very amused watching you fighting an illusory Nate. Your second mistake was assuming that Yar is still inside me, and you see, he's not. I removed him from myself and sealed his insanity away inside this blade."

Ray stood up and thrusted the sword into the ground at Red's feet, leaving it there for his inspection. The snake man eyed the blade briefly before turning his gaze up at Ray again.

-"Hah, indeed. When news about the rise of the Black Calamity reached the Guild, I knew it was time to execute my plan, so I pinpointed the strongest of your subordinates in the right direction. That way, defenses back here would be limited, as everyone would be busy dealing with the demonic brotherhood. I revealed myself to Killrock on purpose to let you know of my presence, and since I knew Irvine was on to Nate because of Midori’s unexpected return, I fixed a fight against an illusory Nate, knowing he was watching me closely from the shadows of the training yard facilities. This resulted in the intervention of Midori herself, which deviated the Omnimancer’s attention away from me.”-

"Then, I guess I stand corrected... you made one mistake."

Ray's voice sounded more feminine now. It was familiar, but clearly not Nayo.

"You expected Ray to be a coward and stay here while his people fought the Black Calamity, when in reality, Ray isn't here, and hasn't been here for a while now."

Ray's movements suddenly became more female-like as he laughed. It was then that Nate’s expression lost all confidence and joy.

-“What...is this...?”- he muttered in disbelief as the half angel’s blonde hair began to elongate and turn from light ivory to jet black. Soon, a mix between Nate’s and Red’s appearances was all that was left; a man with Nate’s buffed body build and coat, along with Red’s skin tone, eyes, and hair. Also, he was wearing no shirt under the long navy blue coat, just a pair of obscured pants and maroon boots. The stitches on his chest were visible.

-“Who are you?!”- he shrieked at the time he clenched his face in frustration, peeking at the fake Ray through an opening between two of his fingers.

The false Ray's smile vanished as he pushed his fingers into his chin and then ripped off his face to toss it aside, revealing his character's true identity...

                ...Isk.

"Being a transvestite is fun, I can see why you enjoy it so much."

She swiftly opened up a drawer and pulled out an intercom.

    "Ya get all that Ray?"

    "Yes, I'm glad I left when I did. “

The intercom boomed as Isk then dropped it onto the desk, walking over to the sword she’d nailed into the ground.

    ...

-“He...he he...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!”-

    ...

As if having lost his mind completely, Red bursted into maniacal laughter as he slammed himself against several objects around Ray’s office, his wife’s portrait included, which then fell and shattered upon impact with the ground..

-“YOU MISERABLE ***!!!”- he yelled out in desperate anger at the time he withdrew Nate’s dice broadsword and swung it to fire several thin waves of razor-sharp energy at her.

Isk snatched up Ray’s apparent sword as it then turned into her spear, which she placed on her back to deflect Red's reckless attack.

“Guess we can play a bit longer…”

“I’d like to fight him alone…”

Ray landed in the sand, not ten feet from the demon’s position. “Hello old friend, it’s been awhile.”

“what the hell are you doing here!? I’ve gotta finish up with Vic first, I owe him something, he took everything away from me…”

“…And I gave it all back to you and more! You had a position, you where in a powerful guild, and you still wanted more! You even killed my wife! Do you remember that? The only score left to settle is between you and me!”

Storm crow, feel fear? why did an indestructible warrior fear Ray?

“Ya know, it’s not fair! You send your men in to weaken me, then act all macho and have Yar give the final blow.”

“Yar you say? He isn’t going to finish you off, you’re my demon, and I will deal with you.”

    “heh…”

Storm crow stood up and straightened his posture.

“Alright Ray, I’ll let you sleep by your woman’s side… for the rest of eternity!”

As the demon approached, a figure that looked identical to ray materialized beside him. but only Ray could see this person. His eyes where forced shut, and he had a huge grin on.

“You should let me murder him.” he spoke in a British sort of accent. “He’s still too strong for you.”

“when have we ever agreed Yar? From who we kill to the style of shoelace we always disagreed.”

The doppelganger’s eyes popped open, revealing he had none.

“Well then, you go play along with your friend, I’ll be here for your convenience when your ready to give up!”

Yar vanished into thin air as Ray lifted up his sword and dashed over to Storm crow in a single bound. His hair fluttered lightly as he struck the demon’s hooks, forcing him into a deadlock, throwing sparks off either side.

“We aren’t so different Ray, we both seek revenge.”

    “But I also seek cleansing…”

The vampire delivered a kick to the storm crow’s chest, throwing him into a spin as he tumbled across the desert.  Ray wasted no time in attacking his foe while he was vulnerable. His sword sunk into his back as he tumbled, causing a laceration that went all the way around the demon, creating a trail of black blood wherever he rolled. but, that didn’t slow him down.

“Wooh, I forgot the power in those limbs.”

Getting up, Storm crow back handed Ray with one of his hooks, the force could break a normal human’s jaw, but the vampire got away lucky with a spray of blood. The demon wasn’t done however, he then followed it up with a barrage of punches that quickly put the guild lord on defense. If he could knock that sword out of his hands, he would be powerless in the sunlight! But even with all 4 arms going, the demon still couldn’t penetrate Ray’s defenses.

“I’m rather disappointed with the great son of calamity. No wonder you couldn’t beat Yar…”

Ray smiled as a droplet of blood ran down his chin.

    “grrrrAAHHHHH!”

Just as Storm crow prepared to converge all of his fists onto Ray at once, the vampire quickly took to the skies, hurling down a rain of daggers created from his telekinetic energy. each one embedding itself deep within Storm crow’s chest, pushing there jagged tips (and some of his own blood) out of his back. the demon ignored the pain and took to the skies after him, yanking the daggers threw his back. his flight was significantly slower after having his stone wings melted the way they where. The demon retorted by launching lightning bolts back at Ray. As fast as the vampire was, he couldn’t dodge a lightning bolt, and was scorched by the blows. Both warriors fell from the sky, the guild lord from pain, the demon from exhaustion.

    *Slam *

    “Uhhh…”

the old friends stumbled to there feet and started attacking each other again. They where now both bound to earth. There was no way  Storm crow’s wings would allow a second flight, and ray was just too rusty. He had gone centuries without fighting, and he wasn’t prepared for most of the attacks that where hurled at him, so he took more damage from them. not to mention the sun was starting to take it’s toll on the vampire. The power in the sword could only hold out for so long…

using some quick thinking, Ray hurled sand into Storm crow’s face telekinetically and impaled his chest with his sword. Less blood was coming out, a sign he was almost out. But he didn’t stop moving, it was like he said, he was unstoppable…

Storm crow  charged up his fists and launched a wave of electricity at his opponent. It arced as it moved in on Ray. But the vampire easily leaped over the blast and behind the demon.

    *Splat*

Ray’s sword entered the demon’s back. Once again Storm crow didn’t seem effected by the attack. His body was full of holes now, and one more didn’t seem to make a bit of difference. “Ray, if your going to hurt me, do it right!” Just like with Victor, Storm crow pulled the entire sword threw himself. The sword left Ray’s hands at that instant. It was then the vampire realized how helpless he was under the sun without his fabled sword. His weakness to the light shined as bright as the sun did.

“Ha Ha… IS THAT ALL, MASTER!?”

Storm crow kicked Ray  onto his back . He then dropped the blood covered blade inches away from Ray’s hand. “I guess that’s all you ever where, just an old crypt lord that couldn’t take the heat. You blame me for your wife’s death? You shouldn’t have entrusted her anything, she would have never died had you given me the rights to your studies… any last words before I crush your little head?”

    Wincing in pain, Ray replied:

    “I entrusted you with a life…”

Ray used his telekinesis to pull the sword into his hand. He then promptly drove his fist threw the demon’s chest.

    “Now I’m taking it back.”

Ripping his fist from Storm crow’s chest, Ray revealed he had the demon’s shard of the black calamity. It was the only thing keeping him alive.  The storm demon held his hand out, as if trying to grab it back, but only managed to fall over on his side.

    He laid completely still.

    He was dead.

    “finally…”

Ray staggered over to Gail, Victor, Kiyo, Killrock, and the president. “I’m sorry, I should have been here the entire time. This is just as much my fight as it is yours. Perhaps if I had come sooner more of you would have lived…”

“We can’t change the past boss, at least you came when you did.”

“I learned that two thousand ye
