I definitely think that Nero COULD be the son of Vergil. We don't know how old Dante or Vergil are. They are half-demon, they have bigger life spans than regular humans. How do we KNOW that they were in their 20's? Sparda was sealed in the demon realm(I think) a long long time ago. And even if he wasn't, he sealed the demonic gate 2,000 years before the events of DMC. If, as some of you say, that he became human after sealing the gate he would have to have been 1,080 years plus in human years for Dante and Vergil to be in their 20's in DMC 3. 

 

 Since Dante and Vergil are twins, i doubt them both being young in DMC3 would have a child so young. I doubt Vergil "did it" with a girl either being at a young age. I doubt that Dante and Vergils aging is that far behind, because in each game, say from DMC3 to DMC1, he looks much older which is 10 years later after. Also, dont forget how Lady and Dante were approixmatly the same age in DMC3, and in DMC4, it looks like they aged the same together both being in their 30's. It wouldnt reflect well Vergil having a child so young because he still looks about 19 or 20, and Vergil doesnt seem the type to love a woman, nor did me mention one or have any intention of feeling sorry or regretful for what he had done if he did. Dante is more likely to get it on with a woman than Vergil.
No i very much doubt they're 2,000 years old, otherwise in all that time, they certainly didnt gain that much more power, which is odd considering that in maybe 10 years Dante is double his strength. It doesnt add up. Neither does Nero look like Vergil or act like him.

this is a really good arguement... one may think that Nero is Virgils Son, but its highly doubted since as far as i know (correct me if im wrong)just cuz the Yamato reacted to Nero doesnt mean it wouldnt have reacted to Dante because if your saying what i think your saying the Yamato would only react to Virgil or his son because in DMC3 Archam just walks up and takes the Sparda Sword and he has no demon blood relation whatso ever (or atleast not to Sparda) and since Yamato and Rebellion both once belonged to Sparda and were passed on and they would probobly have the same effect and just let whomever take them but as you said Nero's Devil Bringer is apart of Virgil which might make the Yamato recognize Nero as Virgil. Like i said, really good arguement, just not that much proof on 1 side it

lol. evry1s gonna h8 each udr from this forum coz they dont agree ther opinions. I'm a bit thick, so i need other ppls opinions! But....... I'm still annoyed with the 4th. Simply coz they made nero outa the blue, with NO INFORMATION WHATSOEVER..... and coz i cant get over de wal in chptr 11 lol....... But its actually annoying coz neros just lingering there and confusing evry1 even FURTHER! Wed probably all sussed every out in DMC until capcom made the 4!!! wait...... Thats GOOOOOD....... I cant WAIT for the 5th! but i wont play it till i GET OVER THE STINKIN WALL IN THE 4TH GAME!!!!! my  bros takn a shot it 2 n he cnt get ovr it ethr, so hes been teln me 2 do it, n i say i cnt, so he ses 2 get a walkthrough of de internet. n im like WHY? al u need 2 do is get ovr the wall, wich I cnt do!!! do u need specal abilities or sumtin?

Nero has all the basics about him. How and where he was raised, his abilities and affiliation with the Order and how/what caused his Devil Bringer so far. Vergil in DMC3 had barely anything known about him, obviously more was know because hes Dantes twin, but apart from that...no one barely knows him, and hes been featured in 2 games and the manga a few times. If anything Nero almost has the same information as Vergil and hes only been in one game.
Nero can be used to maybe fill in some plotholes following from the other series and then in DMC5 have his past cleared up; which is common sense to at least give some more information on someone as important as Nero; being a main protagonist and now; such relevance to the entire series.
To get over the wall, use snatch on those blue things with Nero, once your at the hightest peak on the final one, double jump on the wall. Or if your lazy then just buy Air Hike...i think.
I still dont/ever think Nero is the son of Vergil ever....Vergil was way too young; and he wouldnt just have random sex with a woman, especially since he disreguards humans and wont love them; hes not the type to just "do it" with a woman for fun. Either Neros arm is connected to Vergil and thus would explain its sudden rivial, or his arm is his, but Yamato awoken his hidden abilities. Only Spardas blood may weild Spardas Devil Arms to their full ability.

And i keep wondering if when Agnus is wondering how Nero restored Yamato, yadda yadda yadda, was is NERO or VERGIL who was saying the bit: "From that day forth... My arm changed... A voice in my head said power... Give me more... Power..." and something about protecting a "her". I THINK its Nero himself talking about Kyrie, but I cant be 100% sure...

An by the way, I tried the air hike thang in mid air. Dusnt wurk. N i dont KNOW if u cn jump aftr using a devil bringer star. I cant... As far as im aware of... Ill try it ne way lol. i got stuk on chptr 11 on DMC3 n, lo and behold, thanx 2 de ppl on this AMAZING syt, im finished dat game completely! So I'll have 2 trust ya and make nero JUMP LIKE HE HAS NEVER JUMPED B4 LOL!!!

Look, we know just as little about each character. The way I see it, Vergil and Nero are almost the same. Nero is half-demon(not really) who has embraced his humanity while Vergil has embraced the demonic side in himself. Vergil sees his humanity as a weakness while Nero sees it as a strength. These two are about the same age in the games they star in. They are really similiar or maybe I am just digging to deep. Thats the way I see it though. i think that Nero is cool as well as Vergil. Both have a story behind them(not much, but its there). Little is known about their histories. The only character which we can really understand is Dante. Capcom has us guessing and wondering about everyone else. Also, they screwed up in the fourth game. Trish answered the phone at the end saying Devil "May" Cry. Not Devil Never Cry which it is supposed to be.

Like when Dante said to Agnus "but humans posess something demons don't..." he was more than likely refering to love, as love is stronger than power and corruption. This was Vergils mistake. I really dont dislike Vergil, but from all the Vergil fanboys going around flaming that they want Nero dead etc it makes me angry.
The thing with Vergil is, he lacked some personality and thats why i found him less interesting. He stated some words that said hes angry inside, but he seemed too cold, a stereotyped villan. Nero seems warmer and his personality bursts from him and really lovable. Nero has only been featured in one game, and we already know just as much almost as we know about Vergil; Nero has alot more potential for him.
No, Trish and Dante changed the name of the shop again with Lady, i think it happened in the anime; and after 3, when Lady said "even a devil may cry" it fitted the theme more since demons can cry.
