Why did you make two threads of the same subject? I deleted the other one.

And there is currently no information available about the DMC film. We just have to be patient and wait.

    I definitely wouldn't want a watered down PG-13 film.

    Re: devil may cry movie

why zercha? would you miss the hot sex and foul cursing DMC is known for?

    :D

in all honesty, I don't even really know why the DMC franchise has been M rated the whole time. I can't believe it's just because there's red stuff everywhere. I think they just did it for people with your mentality Zercha, that a movie is "less intense" just because it's ok for teens to watch.

    Re: devil may cry movie

Uh... Break, Devil May Cry games aren't even rated Mature in Europe. They are only rated Teen.

But have you seen a PG-13 rated action film that actually includes violence? And I mean realistic violence, blood and swords going through people for example? I bet you haven't.

    Re: devil may cry movie

the second Indiana johns movie was rated pg-13 because an evil priest pulls a beating heart from someone's chest. oh, is that 20 mine?

    *takes Zercha's money*

of course there is more blood in R movies. but even if the movie was just Dante and Virgel fighting each other for 2 hours without striking a single lethal blow against each other it would still be good right?

    Re: devil may cry movie

You really do have a different rating system than we have then. In here Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is rated Teen, which means it is forbidden from people under the age of 15. So Indy and DMC have the same rating here.

And of course the fight would be good without a single lethal strike. But if they do make a movie, I really hope they don't tone down the violence just in order to get a wider audience.

    Re: devil may cry movie

us Americans are more worried about people hearing the "f" word and seeing bare boobies than watching blood gush out of an open wound. and I agree the systems are different, I've never seen a PG-15 movie, there's only G, PG, PG-13 (pg-14 on a rare occurance), R, MA (unlike R, people under 18 are forbidden to see MA films, where as R it's ok if you have a parent with you).

and yea, I'm cool with an R rated movie, but over here, I don't really see a need for it.

    Re: devil may cry movie

Tell yall what, how about they make a CG movie of DMC. Make it "Unrated" including blood and mild cursing. And best of all, no delays or cancelling the project altogether. Everyone's happy Stick out tongue

Unrated? so a direct DVD release?

    SUPERB!

but I don't fully agree with you on the CG thing, but eh, not really a debate I feel like getting into, the last "CG vs live action" lasted several months and filled up a lot of pages. but hear are my views on the 3 medias (yes, 3)

Anime: at first glimpse, this seemed like the ideal media for a series that has heavy anime influences. but after some thought, it would feel like a inyusia/helsing rip off. besides, the anime show bombed...

CG: this would only be good if it was photo realistic like FF7 : AC, otherwise, it would feel too much like a video game. I don't know about you, but I'd rather play a videogame than watch one. anyway, something that good would be way over budget, and I don't think DMC can warrant something like that yet.

Live Action: makes the least sense, but would be the best choice. obviously you'd need some CG work mixed in, but I think real actors could easily create the DMC feel. before you ask about finding look alike, I'll have you know the iorn man guy looked nothing like tony stark, save that he had black hair and a mustache, and that rocked!

    Re: devil may cry movie

As long as they don't try to record a film... damn, who the hell would they get that could play both sons of Sparda... sheesh. It obviously one of the above options, although one kinda like ff:AC might be the best option. They could release it with DMC5... yeah, that sounds about right, if we all want it to be any good.

    Re: devil may cry movie

I must say i really like the idea of a Dmc Movie but the thing is i just hope they dont ruin it like i feel as if they have done with the resident evil films and ff the spirts within bt i must say advent childern rocked

what i think they need to do is get some great graphics good actors who suit the characters and i also think the sould base it on the first Dmc game as we all know was the best out of the 4 for storyline and bosses this movie should also have enemys that suit the game like blade, shadow and frost if they spent alot of time money and love on this movie it would make the best film of all time.

    Re: devil may cry movie

id prefer it if the movie was not based on any dmc games.i find it stupid to just copy a game as it is in a movie.n tthe dmcs r good as games but as movies only the fans would watch them. n if we want a high quality movie then only a big american film producer company could afford the money for the making of the movie.n this company wouldnt make a film only for fans but for the mass.id prefer to see a dmc not inside a castle or an unknown city on an unknown island.id prefer smt like the anime for movie.n the enemies shouldnt be the hillarious bags of sand or marionates.they should be able to bring a bit of fear ay the watcher.generally it should have smt of reality in it or else it would suck (like the bloodrayne films n the resident evil 2 n 3)
