Follow Up: DMC3 Machinima Project

Apologies for the late follow up post, the holidays have been rathet hectic for me.

Good news though, as the recapturing, editing and making Devil May Cry 3: The Sons of Sparda was a major success! The film's quality is absolutely unbelievable...it's pretty much right on par with watching the cutscenes straight from the game on your PS2. Last year's version is almost embarassing compared to how well done the remake is, and I am happy to say that all the fight scenes in the game came out looking very good. One or two could have been a little better, but for the most part, you see a few surprise moves that look extremely awesome.

So, for those of you anywhere near Tyson's Corner in Vienna, Virginia, I would HIGHLY reccomend you visit MAGFest 5.0. It's not just going to rock because of the movie premiering, but because of all the other insanely cool stuff happening throughout the show. A video game rock concert where you can experience the game music of your youth, 24/7 gaming on any system you can imagine (including PC's and Arcades), contests and tournaments, auctions and a lot more. It's a gamer party by fans, for the fans.

As a bonus, I'm pleased to announce that the person who created MAGFest, Brendan Becker, has arranged for a FREE showing of the film to early birds: Get to the hotel at 4 pm on Thursday, January 4th or just before when the lines for registration begin, and you can come watch The Sons of Sparda's first showing without having to register to get in. Then, if you want to stay for the rest, it's only $40 at the door. If you pre-reg now, it's only $35. I alone have to fly out from Cali to make it to the con, so if you have the extra money to blow and come have a good time, it's most definitely worth it. The other scheduled showings of The Sons of Sparda will be on Sunday at 3pm just before the fest ends, and we are also pushing to get a 3rd showing in prior to that during points in which the video room will be open to requests.

If any of you have any questions about the film or the con, please feel free to post in comments and I will address them accordingly. Anyone interested in attending MAGFest, please check out www.magfest.org. Hope to see you at the con!

Oh, and one last tidbit. If any of you are interested in helping design a graphic for the movie flyers I will be posting at the hotel, you can download a PSD of the CG graphic of Dante and Vergil fighting here and use that as your center piece.

Hey,

it's amazing, I like the fact that there's someone who created a movie of the Sons of Sparda, i guess it's taken from the third part of the game?! Whatever, I also had that idea but not what I needed for it, I only play DMC3 at a friend's and I am faaascinated by that game, I made only a third of the game, I got all weapons and almost every attack but it's awesome how many different possibilities there are to do different things, well I think I don't need to tell you how amazing the game is ^^ What I wanted to know is, how can I, a desperate DMC-Gamer from Germany, watch the movie 'Sons of Sparda'...I would be so glad if there would be something that makes it possible for me to watch it. Otherwise I wood like to know, how you made the movie, have you recorded from the TV when you played the games and then cut everything together or how did you do it. It would be great to receive an answer as quick as possible.
