Capcom of Europe just issued a
Press Release stating that Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is going to see a release in all PAL territories this coming September.
The Press Release reads in part:
London ¾ 19th May 2006 — Capcom™ today announced plans to release Devil May Cry3™: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition for the PlayStationâ 2 computer entertainment system across all PAL territories on 29th September 2006. The special edition features a mass of exclusive additional content, new gameplay options and Vergil, Dante’s evil twin brother, is available as an extra playable character from the start of the game.
We're looking into confirming Vergil's playability from the START of the game with Capcom of Europe. DMC3: SE's release in the states required a save data from the original DMC3 to unlock Vergil, or the completiion of the game with Dante, or even the completion of Bloody Palace Mode.
EDIT: Capcom of Europe confirmed with me via email that Vergil will indeed be playable from the start of the game, with absolutely no fulfillments needed to complete before using him in the game. If any other features in the PAL version of the game are different or new, we'll update on them to keep you posted.
Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition is officially slated for a September 29th, 2006 release in Europe, as stated above. We'll bring more info and media to you on this as it becomes available.
