Devil May Cry : Review

It's been a few years since the highly anticipated release of Devil May cry, yet I find that even after all that time, I still can't put it down. Devil May Cry is perhaps the best game CAPCOM has ever released, it combines elements from the Resident Evil Series we know and love with a highly reactive, almost First person Shooter response times, and mates it all to a flawless orchestrated soundtrack to make this little gem one of the best gaming experiences to hit the PS2.

Visually this game was one of the first to really toe the line on the PS2's visual processing power. The frame rate remains up to speed even with large amounts of enemies, lights, and magical effects on screen at once. The graphics are grungy and ominous, and the lighting is excellent. The models are well drawn and add great effect to the game.

The audio in the game is awe-inspiring. The entire game sports an orchestrated track that included a gothic organ. As Dante begins his combat sequences, the music speeds up into an excellent rock beat that indeed seems to move with the action. it is excellent.

The gameplay runs just as good as the game looks and sounds. The entire designs of the commands are intuitive and easily accessed during combat, resulting in a gaming experience that flows into different sequences easily. It is this author's opinion that the control system of DMC has yet to be surpassed by any of those in the series.

I have a lot to say about DMC, but most of it would be repetitive. This game is the Pandora's Box of its genre, and even after years of being on the market, many players still can't put it down. It holds an excellent replay value and belongs in every gamer's library. If you haven't already, please go and pick up Devil May Cry.
