Dante
The son of the Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda, Dante is a private investigator of the supernatural. Orphaned at an early age, Dante is in his chosen line of work so he can seek revenge against the demon that murdered his mother and brother. He believes that if he keeps killing demons, he’ll eventually hit the “jackpot,” by killing the one who killed his family.

Nelo Angelo
Nelo Angelo is Latin, and translates to “Dark Angel.” Nelo Angelo is actually Virgil, Dante’s brother, whom has been corrupted by Mundus’ evil. Dante unknowingly locks swords in combat with his brother several times during his trip across Mallet Island, once Virgil is defeated and his soul freed, Dante will receive a special gift from his father.

Trish
Trish is a demon created by Mundus in the image of Dante’s Mother. Little else is known about her. Even her motives seem strange, for what reason would a demon, a servant of the underworld assist Dante? The answers will come to you near the end of the game.

Mundus
The lord of the Underworld, once defeated and banished by Dante’s father, Sparda, Mundus has risen again and seeks to take over the world. It is Dante’s job to defeat him.
